The Highland Community Center offers a wide range of recreational programs designed to promote wellness, teamwork, and community connection for all ages. Activities include youth soccer and basketball leagues, dance classes, an engaging summer youth program, and a dedicated Senior Citizens program that provides social, wellness, and recreational opportunities for older adults. Together, these programs create a welcoming space where residents can stay active, form lasting friendships, and enjoy enriching experiences throughout the year.

Soccer Program

The Highland Legacy Recreation League at Highland Community Center is a recreational youth soccer program committed to making the game fun, accessible, and affordable for all families in Mount Gilead and the surrounding Montgomery County communities.

Open to children ages 4–14, the program welcomes players of every skill level — from first-time participants to returning athletes. Highland Legacy focuses on age-appropriate skill development, including dribbling, passing, and shooting, while creating a safe, positive environment that encourages confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love of the game.

Rooted in the principles of inclusion and opportunity, the league emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and fair play, ensuring every child has the chance to play, grow, and feel a sense of belonging — both on and off the field.
