May Day
The May Day Festival at Highland Community Center is a cherished annual event that embodies the spirit of spring and community. As one of the center's standout celebrations, it marks the arrival of warmer weather with a burst of energy and color. The festival features traditional Maypole dancing, where participants dance around a tall pole adorned with ribbons, symbolizing the vitality and beauty of spring. In addition to the dancing, the festival includes a variety of live performances, showcasing local talents in music and arts. Health and Wellness Days
The Highland Community Center hosts Health & Wellness Days, offering a variety of free services and educational opportunities to support community well-being. Attendees can learn hands-on CPR and AED use, receive blood pressure checks, and access harm-reduction resources such as Narcan kits, along with informative displays on injury prevention and stroke awareness. The Center also welcomes a mobile medical unit that provides convenient access to essential health services, including COVID testing and vaccines, flu and pneumonia shots, and blood sugar and cholesterol screenings. Together, these efforts are designed to promote health education and empower individuals with vital skills and resources.
Black History Program
The Highland Community Center’s Black History Program honors local community members for their outstanding service through a special evening featuring a guest speaker, dinner, and vibrant music and art. This celebration highlights the rich heritage and contributions of Black history while bringing the community together in appreciation and reflection. It’s a meaningful event that inspires pride and connection throughout Black History Month.

Annual Christmas Banquet & Fashion Show
